Seiko recently announced a special edition version of the popular Turtle dive watch to “Save the Ocean.”

The Prospex Turtle “Save the Ocean” Dark Manta Ray Special Edition SRPF77K1 is presented in a standard 45 mm x 13.2 mm stainless steel “Turtle” case that’s 47.7 mm lug-to-lug.

One thing worth noting is that the unidirectional steel dive bezel has an insert that’s made of ceramic, instead of aluminum, making it more resistant to scratches.

A dark blue dial with Manta Rays and a stamped textured pattern resembling water go along with the ocean theme and give consumers something different to choose from compared to a standard flat single color dial. The sapphire glass is flat and chambered, with a magnifier for the day/date. A caliber 4R36 movement drives the hours, minutes, center seconds, day, and date. This caliber is the same as the 4R35, except the 4R36 has an extra day function added to the date. The workhouse Seiko mechanical movement beats at 3Hz, has a 41-hour power reserve, 24 jewels, with a bi-directional rotor, and hand winding.

This is a dive watch and in addition to the dive bezel the crown and caseback screw-down to the case. Water-resistance is rated down to 200 meters.

Each Prospex Save The Ocean Dark Manta Ray Special Edition comes paired with. a blue silicone strap and comes with a Special Edition marking on the caseback plus a special “Save The Ocean” box.

Retail is $595.
