At Watches and Wonders 2023, Rolex introduced its boldest watch Day-Date collection ever.

Rolex debuted the Day-Date 36 in three new variations, all featuring a vibrant rainbow-colored champlevé enameled jigsaw puzzle dial, rainbow-colored baguette-cut sapphire indices, and positive keywords and emojis replacing the timepiece’s signature day and date displays.

The keywords that replace the Day window at the top of the dial are “Happy,” “Eternity,” “Gratitude,” “Peace,” “Faith,” “Love,” and “Hope,” and the emojis that replace the 31 dates at 3 o’clock are a variety of smiley faces, hearts, and other symbols. Unofficially dubbed by fans as the Day-Date 36 “Emotion” or “Emoji Puzzle,” the watch is both playful and highly collectible like other rainbow-themed limited-production precious metal watches that Rolex produces.

The Day-Date 36 “Emoji-Puzzle” watches are powered by Rolex’s caliber 3255 movement. The Oyster case is available in 18K white, yellow, or Everose gold, which is water-resistant to a depth of 100 meters, and is fitted with the President bracelet, with concealed folding Crownclaps, and includes patented ceramic inserts, to enhance flexibility and durability.

Each dial has a mixture of turquoise blue, red, fuchsia, orange, green, and yellow puzzle pieces, fit together on a single-color background, each representing one of the key moments in life. The 18K white gold (Ref. 128239-0056) and yellow gold (Ref. 128238-0106) versions have a turquoise blue puzzle-motif dial, and the 18K Everose gold (Ref. 128235-0063) version has an orange puzzle-motif dial.
