F.P. Journe has had a storefront on Madison Avenue, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, for well over a decade.

As of today, F.P. Jorne has officially moved to a new location on Mercer Street, in the famous SoHo shopping district. The Madison Avenue boutique (parallel to Fifth Avenue), shared a street with many high-end brand flagships, however, since the pandemic, the dynamic (and stores) have changed, and for whatever reason (perhaps demographics, aesthetics, cost, marketing), they’ve left in favor of SoHo.

Visiting the new F.P. Journe “Maison” will continue to be a destination, much like it is at the Los Angeles boutique or Miami Maison, or has been in New York’s Upper East Side for years. Whether it’s uptown or downtown, chances are you’re making a special trip to see one of the hottest independents on the market.

The new 53 Mercer Street is a two-floor 550 square-foot showcase and meeting space for high-end collectors and enthusiasts to experience Journe, as Journe has intended.

Just as he creates a watch, François-Paul Journe thinks and develops the design of these spaces, infusing them with his philosophy, ethics and the “A.R.T.” values of his Geneva-based Manufacture (Authenticity, Rarity and Talent), which go beyond the world of watchmaking. Whether in Hong Kong or Paris, collectors will find the same thread running through an exclusive watchmaking universe with a refined, intimate and warm décor.

The New York Maison has a large bar on the main floor, with lounges, and a library containing books on watchmaking, and cases filled with a broad collection of F.P. Journe timepieces. In the center of the room hanging from the top floor, all the way through a circular opening, down to the main floor, is a chandelier created by Mexican-Brazilian artist Carolina Fontoura Alzaga, similar to those in the Los Angeles Boutique and the Miami Maison — which acts as the architectural centerpiece.

Upstairs, the New York Maison there’s a kitchen a wine cellar, sofas, and tables, where dinners and receptions can be organized.  Exposed red brick is visible throughout the entire boutique, and symbolizes the industrial roots of SoHo, blended with the signature Parisian style of François-Paul Journe.
