A. Lange & Söhne created a special one-off version of the company’s 1815 Chronograph to be shown at the Concours of Elegance and then auctioned by Phillips in November 2022 at the Geneva Watch Auction XVI with all proceeds going to The Prince’s Trust.

The 1815 Chronograph “Hampton Court Edition” features the standard 39.5 mm diameter 1815 Chronograph case, crafted in solid 18K white gold, and adorned with a special officer’s style hinged caseback. Giving the piece unique a distinctive look compared to the standard 1815 collection, are the sandstone-colored font and silver subdials that create a “reverse Panda” aesthetic.

Underneath the hinged caseback and sapphire glass caseback, sits Lange caliber L951.5 with column-wheel control, a snail for the precisely jumping minute counter, and a flyback function. The hand-wound movement beats at 2.5Hz, has a chronograph accuracy of 1/5th of a second, and offers a 60-hour power reserve.

Hand engraved on the caseback are the words “CONCOURS OF ELEGANCE, HAMPTON COURT PALACE 2022” — with the Concours’ winged horse logo engraved just above that. The Concours of Elegance takes place from September 2nd to the 4th at the Hampton Court Palace in the United Kingdom.

The 1815 Chronograph “Hampton Court Edition” will be auctioned at the Geneva Watch Auction XVI on 6 November 2022 by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo with proceeds going to The Prince’s Trust. Founded in 1976 by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, the charity helps young people aged 11 to 30 develop basic life skills, prepare for the workplace and gain access to employment opportunities.
